There are a large number of iMessages in my iPad mini and I need to save these imessages to my windows 7 PC for storage. So I searched many forums and tried many methods, finally found an effective and easy way by using iFonebox-a great third party tool. So I would like to share my experience about how to copy/backup imessages on iPad mini to windows 7 PC.
Where can you find such a tool? Look here: iFonebox (Windows) or iFonbeox (Mac), which can directly scan your iPad mini, and allow you to selectively save data on it, including imessages, contacts, photos, videos, notes, call logs, etc. Furthermore, you can use it to retrieve deleted data from your iPad when you mistakenly deleted them.

Step 1. Launch iFonebox and connect your iPad mini
Here, let's try iFonebox for windows. If you're a Mac user, it doesn't matter. You still can follow the way below to save your iPad mini messages to Mac in a similar way.
To begin with, launch the program on your computer, and connect your iPad mini to the computer. Then you'll see the primary window as follows.
Step 2. Preview and save imessages from iPad to computer
The scan will take you a short while. During the scan, do not disconnect your iPad mini and don't connect other iOS devices to your computer, in order to get a successful scan. When the scan completes, you can preview all SMS on your iPad mini in the scan result as shown below. Preview them one by one and mark those you want. Click "Recover" to save them all on your computer with one click.
